The remake of Trials of Mana is out on PS4 in 2020, this is more than likely a classic that you have never played.
This game first came out is 1995 in Japan called Seiken Densetsu 3 with parts of its predecessor Secret of Mana in the West. It maintained the three characters but now with six to choose from, your game is altered on who you choose as your selected core trio.
In June 2019 Square Enix announced it was working on a Seiken Densetsu 3 remake to be known as Trials of Mana. You will find the same characters, the same world but the look, sound and play is made for todays players.
The remake will give you a sense of deja-vu when playing from the soundtrack to the characters and the visuals.
Square Enix knew that the remake needed to retain the general outline of the game but it needed to “fit with the times”.
Square Enix faced challenges reinventing this game, from the big design to the battle system. Ensuring that the characters have the imagination of what the payers will expect while maintaining the design consistency from the original.
Work on the battle system that mimicked the original really didn’t fit or work and the decision was made to start again. The final system which has added modern features such as evades, jumps and combos with thirs-person play.
Seiken Densetsu are always ready to try new things and this take on a familiar legend is definitely worth revisiting even if you have never played the original.
